Dennises and Basketball

He said, "My best side is left." So, this isn't his best side.

If you’re a basketball fan, you probably know him. I live next to the former basketball star Dennis Johnson’s sister’s house. He passed away a few years ago. Her husband is a retired police officer, and his name is also Dennis. He’s been helping me out in my jungle yard.

Until a month ago, I didn’t know my neighbor is a sister of Dennis Johnson. She showed me his pictures and said,

“He had visited me here a few times.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I said. And I said it again.

She looked at my nose. She has cute freckles like his brother.
Dennis coaches a basketball team, but he said he has to stop it next season because he wants to see his son play. Little Dennis will be a member in a college basketball team. I thought Dennis got his priority straight.

Hello Keiko,

I am still not getting updates of your blog on my blog list. It is stuck on Kana Shodo...do you think there is an unspoken message there!

When I re-list you on my list with your http: blog url - I've tried deleting and re-entering what I had- I get a message saying 'no feed is detected' I have no idea what this means. I assume it is something that requires switching on, but what?

Hope we get this resolved.

Regarding basketball fiend, he doesn't need to exercise his limbs does he; one step and little topple into the basket, like popping trash into a bin, is all that is required from that guy.

Hello Again,

I'm trying out the 'follower'; route this is the message I got, it's same as the message I received for the other method:

" You have followed this URL, but we couldn't find a feed for it. Please check that the URL is correct:
http://keiko-amano.blogspot.com/"

I am at a loss to know what else to try at my end, Keiko to obtain notification of your blog updates.

Hi ZACL,

I'm sorry for such a long delay in my response. I wrote a response once, but my battery ran out. Two public places I used to go for the internet access went out of business. I was away from Japan only a little while, but it seems everywhere are renovated or went out of business. Amazing. Maybe, I go back to using the standard landline and DSL if I don't have to sign a contract.

About Dennis, yes, he is so tall, and no fear for diet for the rest of his life. By the way, I used to belong to a basketball team in my junior high school. Was I good at it? I couldn't tell, but out of all the ballgames, I like basketball the best for sure.

Zacl,

forgot to mention that I must have changed the value of one setting to none. So, I changed it to short.

I guess I had chosen "none" because my blogs were showing up here and there, and those sites had nothing to do with literary or such activities.

Please try to see if it is working better. My response will be slow, but I will respond. I appreciate your patience.

Hello,

I hope you had a good journey. Many small businesses disappear here as well. Sadly, it is a familiar picture.

I hope the links work better, meantime, I will check what is happening on your blog site.

I just commented on your Kana Shodo post thinking you had written nothing since then. Now I discover, like ZACL, that that I haven't been notified of new posts. Never mind, I will check myself from now on, if the "follower" thing doesn't work.

I had asked for you to post more often in the comment I wrote just now, and it was as if you instantly responded with lots of posts!

I don´t get notifications from anyone, so I just check people´s pages from time to time. It´s Blogger, everyone: it doesn´t get any better. ;-)

That's a shame, no updates; it used to happen. I still receive notifications from the older listings I have, new ones appear to be losing out.

As you say, Luciana, it is Blogger. This site does not allow contacts to form without going through hoops.

Vincent, Lu, ZECL,

Thank you. I'll check and respond if I see anything peculiar. I found one comment from Vincent that I needed to hit publish button. So, I did, but it was already published before I hit the button.

Hi Keiko,

have you subscribed to the RSS and Atom feeds? Someone suggested that if you have not, this might be the reason why we don't receive notifications of your new posts. I am no expert in this matter, but I am sure someone could offer guidance if you need it.

ZACL,

I hope the problem has been cleared.

So far, I think we have no choice about the RSS and Atom feeds, and it doesn't make sense to avoid them because writers are here to express ourselves, to be heard by the global public. But, I do feel this conflict. Some people are abusive, but we don't have a good software to recognize them.

I fully appreciate this sentiment Keiko. I had the same discussion with a friend; we both felt like you, agreeing that some limitations have to be in force, but they have to be selected, in view of what blogging is about and why we do it.

Relying on the the controls that there are, (such as they are) is like securing your personal space as much as possible, without cutting yourself off from the world and still requiring to take all sorts of precautions.
